Omri Casspi

Casspi played well early in the season and earned some valuable minutes for a while, backing up at both small forward and power forward. He showed ability to knock down an open 3 pointer, but is a liability on defense and has relatively little else to his game. His minutes decreased dramatically the last 3 months of the season and he also didn’t play in the playoffs.

The Rockets have a reasonable veteran league minimum option on him for next season but we suspect that he won’t return as the Rockets seek to make moves to improve the bench.

If not brought back, Casspi’s minutes will likely be given to last year’s D-Leaguers Troy Daniels and D-League Rookie of the Year, Robert Covington.
