The Houston Texans have made a number of changes to their roster in preparation for the 2025 season. In the NFL Draft, they selected nine players, and six of them came on the offensive side. The Texans are doing everything in their power to surround C.J. Stroud with talent.
Following the NFL draft, teams parted ways with multiple players in order to create some more roster space. That was the case in New England, who released OL Jake Andrews on Monday.
The Texans didn't waste much time, as they claimed him on Tuesday, according to Jonathan M Alexander of the Houston Chronicle.
The Houston Texans have claimed former Patriots OL Jake Andrews off waivers, a source confirmed, and as @TomPelissero first reported.

Texans Claim OL Jake Andrews on Tuesday
Andrews was drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Troy. As a rookie, he suited up in 16 games, starting in one.
He struggled in his limited reps, logging a 53 overall grade, a 34.2 pass blocking grade, and a 60.8 run blocking grade per PFF. Andrews wasn't able to bounce back in 2024, as he missed the entire season with a knee injury.
With a new regime in the building, it was time for a change. Despite getting released, Andrews quickly landed with the Texans.
The overhaul of Houston's offensive line was clear this offseason. They traded away Laremy Tunsil and Kenyon Green while releasing Shaq Mason. That led to them signing Cam Robinson, Trent Brown, and Laken Tomlinson. Instead of stopping there, Andrews gives this group another interior depth option off the bench.
Injuries are bound to happen, especially along the offensive line, since they are fighting on every single down. Andrews is someone who the Texans think has a chance to stick on the roster and he'll get a chance in minicamp and training camp.
You can never have enough bodies on the offensive line and Houston definitely gets that message
