The Houston Texans have made some questionable moves along the offensive line this offseason. They decided to trade away Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders for trade compensation. Houston also released Shaq Mason, creating two holes upfront.
The Texans knew they needed to upgrade that unit and made a big addition on Wednesday. According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Houston agreed to terms with OT Cam Robinson on a one-year deal that is worth $12 million and up to $14.5 million with incentives.
This was a needed acquisition and running back Joe Mixon seems to be thrilled with it.

Joe Mixon Is Happy With Cam Robinson Signing
Mixon posted a chief emoji, indicating the Texans are cooking with this move. Robinson came into the league as a second-round pick in 2017 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent the first eight and half seasons with the Jags before getting dealt to the Minnesota Vikings last season.
The Alabama product has suited up in at least 14 games in six of his eight seasons, including all 17 games in 2024. Last season with the Vikings and Jags, he was a solid force upfront. According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson finished with a 64.7 overall grade (56th among 141 eligible tackles), a 70.4 pass-blocking grade (49th among 141 eligible tackles), and a 59.9 run-blocking grade (75th among 141 eligible tackles).
Robinson is a solid player along the offensive line but this move doesn't break the bank. He's only signed through the 2025 season so if things don't go well, they can easily move on next season.
As for Mixon, having a bruiser along the offensive line bodes well for him. In his first season, the Oklahoma product logged 1,016 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Robinson will now help create glaring gaps for Mixon to run behind and that is something he's excited about.
