The 2025 NFL draft week is officially here as the offseason continues.

Houston Texans fans are excited to see what general manager Nick Caserio has planned for the week, especially with four top-90 selections at his disposal. Having said that, the Day 1 and 2 prospects aren't the only ones who can make an immediate NFL impact, as history has shown that late-round picks can also be the steal of the draft.

The wide receiver room is one area the Texans will be looking to upgrade this week. Stefon Diggs left town to join the New England Patriots in free agency while Tank Dell's outlook is unclearly amid his knee injury recovery, leaving Houston open to adding a rookie wideout or two.

If they don't want to waste an early pick on that position, the perfect WR target to help with their pass-catching woes could be available for them in a later round.

Texans Must Target Arkansas WR Isaac TeSlaa With Late-Round Pick

One wideout who should be on the Texans' Day 3 radar is Arkansas playmaker Isaac TeSlaa. The former no-star recruit flew under the radar during his time at Hillsdale College, however, he's since been viewed as a 2025 sleeper pick after transferring to the University of Arkansas in 2023.

TeSlaa's first campaign with the Razorbacks was solid, hauling in 34 catches for 351 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in 12 games. Even though he saw fewer receptions (28) despite playing more games (13) in 2025, he managed to exceed his yardage (545) and TD (3) totals while averaging a whopping 19.5 receiving yards per catch.

TeSlaa might not be as "NFL-ready" as some of his fellow incoming WRs, but his 6-foot-4, 214-pound frame should make his transition to being a pro easier. The fact that he also had the highest NFL Next Gen athleticism score among all wideouts at the combine suggests that the Texans could develop him into a special threat with the right coaching.

It also isn't a secret that Houston is interested in the 23-year-old WR. TeSlaa confirmed in February that he's spoken with the Texans, leaving it up to Casero & Co. to decide if he's the right fit for the franchise.

With a trio of Day 3 selections, it makes the most sense for the Texans to target TeSlaa with the 166th overall pick. They won't be picking again after that until the seventh round (No. 236, 241), which might be too late to land the Razorbacks WR if other teams also view him as a late-round steal.

At the end of the day, TeSlaa is a high-potential draft pick who can become an important part of the Texans' passing game one day. Even if he doesn't make an immediate impact, his presence could be enough to motivate the likes of Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III to play to their full potential.

The Texans and the other 31 franchises will have the chance to target TesLaa when the 2025 NFL draft begins on Thursday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.
