The Houston Texans made sure to use this offseason to add to the offensive side of the ball. The Texans had Stefon Diggs leave in free agency, and Tank Dell's status for the 2025 season is up in the air.
Dell suffered a dislocated kneecap, torn ACL, MCL, and LCL, along with meniscus damage in his left knee during a Week 16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He underwent surgery, and there's no official return date set.
Despite many people thinking he'll be gone for the entire year, he teased that a return may come earlier than expected.
On Friday, Dell posted a flurry of pictures on his Instagram account with the caption, "Sooner than you think."
Tank Dell Sparks Quicker Return Rumors With Instagram Post
While Dell would likely return during the second half of the season, having him back on the field would be a boost for the aerial attack.
His first two seasons have been cut short due to injuries, but when he was on the field, he produced. In 25 games with the Texans, the Houston product has reeled in 98 catches for 1,376 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
He and quarterback C.J. Stroud have developed a great friendship. In fact, Stroud pushed for the Texans to draft Dell in the 2023 NFL draft, which the team did.
Having a bunch of quality playmakers around Stroud was the front office's mission, and they achieved that. Considering Dell is rehabbing his second consecutive major injury, Houston added Christian Kirk, Jayden Higgins, and Jaylin Noel via trade and the NFL draft.
Now, the receiver room is a strength for this team, and Dell's latest post will only excite Texan fans.
After making the playoffs and divisional round for two straight years, Houston is looking to take a jump in 2025, and if Dell can, in fact, return, that will only make them a better football team.
