OTAs around the league have wrapped up or are in the final phase of those practices. Mandatory minicamps are next on the docket before players leave prior to training camp.

The Houston Texans will have their minicamp run from June 10 to June 11. Several other teams in the NFL will also kick things off next week, and a former Texan landed with the Buffalo Bills.

According to their official X page, the Bills are signing DT Marcus Harris.

Buffalo Bills Sign Marcus Harris on Friday

Harris was selected in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL draft. He was never able to latch onto the team after the Texans released him during preseason cuts. Harris ended up re-signing to their practice squad before getting released again in October.

He now gets a chance to fight for a roster spot on one of the best teams in the league. The Auburn product posted 126 tackles, 33 TFLs, 11.5 sacks, two pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles in 47 collegiate games with the Tigers.

The Alabama native hasn't been able to show what he can do on the football field in the pros just yet and hopes he gets the chance in Buffalo.

Even though he's been off the team for the past year, the Texans have a talented defensive front. That unit includes Tim Settle Jr., Sheldon Rankins, Kyonte Hamilton, Tommy Togiai
Folorunso Fatukasi, Mario Edwards Jr., Kurt Hinish, and Junior Tafuna along the interior.

There will be a fierce competition for the backup roles on this team as Houston seeks to have another productive season under head coach DeMeco Ryans.

As for Harris, he will have to go up against the likes of Deone Walker, Zion Logue, Casey Rogers, T.J. Sanders, and DeWayne Carter with the Bills.
