Element #1: Miraculous History

If you don’t know the story of Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles, let me refresh your memory. A season ago, they started the season 11-2 led by MVP candidate Carson Wentz. But then, Wentz was lost for the year with an ACL injury.

So backup quarterback Foles takes over. A former player for the Eagles before, the journeyman’s career leads to a 2-1 finish to the season and an NFC-best 13-3 record. So, it seemed that they were in capable hands.

But for some reason, the Eagles were picked as underdogs in their first playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons in Philadelphia. Well, they took the disrespect and turned in a strong playoff run. Philadelphia defeated the Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, and New England Patriots to win their first ever Super Bowl in history.

So now this season, we are seeing deja vu as Wentz is out while Foles is back. After the Eagles defeated the Rams 30-23, there is a reason to not take this team lightly. If Houston wants to beat the Eagles, they need to be ready for Foles, who can and will expose our weaknesses in the secondary if we don’t cover the receivers. Even so, there is another history Houston will need to overcome.
