The Houston Rockets are scouring the trade market for help on the wings. Here are four players the team needs to target in the coming weeks.

The Houston Rockets have not had the start to the season many envisioned this offseason. They’ve struggled and fallen to lesser teams and have just now, on Saturday, been able to climb back to .500 for the season.

James Harden has been up to usual play, dominating on the offensive end to the tune of over 30 points per game, over eights assists, and over five rebounds per game. He is also collecting over two steals per game. Clint Capela has also shown up so far this season and is playing extremely well on both sides of the court.

However, behind those two, the Rockets have not gotten quite what they expected. Eric Gordon has been the epitome of that struggle. He still scoring the points but he’s been extremely inefficient. This has improved some but not nearly where the team wants or needs it to be.

Chris Paul has been solid but not at the superstar level everyone was expecting. He’s also been dealing with hamstring injuries already which is never a good sign. Then, there is the whole Carmelo Anthony of it all, which we’ve discussed extensively (here, here, here, and here) so, we won’t dive into that much on this one.

The Houston Rockets have been in search of a wing to come in and help out this team in the three-point department as well as on defense since the offseason. They weren’t able to get a favorable deal then so they opted to not pull the trigger on any deal. The wing depth has always been suspect since both Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute departed in the offseason.

James Ennis was the primary guy the team added in free agency on the wing and he’s been solid defensively but hasn’t added much offensively. Gary Clark absorbed a lot of Melo’s minutes but hasn’t done much offensively and now Danuel House seems to be garnering that playing time Clark initially got.

So, it’s obvious that the team needs help on the wing. The trouble is figuring out who is available and at what price they can be had for. The Rockets main trade assets are Marquese Chriss, Brandon Knight, and then draft picks. So, let’s take a look at five guys the team could target.
