Will we actually see JJ Watt and the other starters?

We have not seen J.J. Watt take a single snap this preseason. However, he and a few other Texans are expected to see some time on the field in the exhibition game.

I am very interested to see Watt in for a series or two, so far we have heard great things about his recovery coming straight from camp. When I was at camp when the 49ers were in town, he looked phenomenal and went through the drills with ease.

I will also be on the lookout for Tyrann Mathieu, he is also rumored to get some playing time today. Maybe if we see him today, we will get to see a blitz package containing the Honeybadger storming in from the secondary rushing the QB. I think he at least gets a series in or two just so he can get back into the groove of an actual NFL game and not just practice.

We won’t see OLB Whitney Mercilus on the field till Week 1 against the Patriots. According to the Houston Chronicle, Mercilus is treating a hamstring injury.

So, that means we get to possibly see Duke Ejiofor run with the starters. Ejiofor has been a major standout this preseason. Yes, it’s preseason, but man if he can play like that in the regular season we would have another legit pass rusher getting added to an already monstrous defense.
