JJ Watt, DE, 2011 – Present

JJ freakin’ Watt. Two years ago he was on his way to be the best defensive player in the history of the entire NFL. Since then, he suffered a season-ending back injury in 2016. After he worked his tail off to get back from that, he broke his leg three games into the 2017 campaign.

His back injury could linger over his career but, there haven’t been any setbacks regarding that in a long, long time. His broken leg shouldn’t hold him back at all, once it was healed all he had to do was build muscle back up.

Early reports look good for this season as he hasn’t had any restrictions in training camp. He may only appear in one preseason games but, this is commonplace for a lot of veterans. So, expect JJ to come back and return to his normal self quickly.

Prior to his injuries, JJ was the most dominant player in the NFL, not just defender, player. He had two 20+ sack seasons and is a three-time defensive player of the year. He is the only player to win that award three times.

JJ is up there with the likes of Bruce Smith and Lawrence Taylor, two of the most feared defenders in history. If JJ can play at even a level below what he was doing earlier in his career, he’ll be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

JJ is the Houston Texans best shot at a Hall of Famer. He is in a class all on his own in NFL history. He’ll go down as one of the best ever.

Chances: No doubt, first ballot whenever his career is over
