All of the Houston Texans star players are healthy and without limitations

This is probably the greatest news any Houston Texans fan could’ve received this offseason. This past season the team endured injuries to JJ Watt, Deshaun Watson, and Whitney Mercilus, just to name a few.

All three were integral to early season success yet, as soon as all three went down, so did the season. Watson and Mericlus’ injuries are slightly more concerning as they are ligament and muscle injuries. Fortunately, JJ’s injury was a broken bone that should have hardly any potential repercussions down the road.

But, all three players passed their physicals at the beginning of training camp and avoided the PUP list. This is phenomenal news as the health of these three guys will likely be a pretty good indicator of the success that the Houston Texans will have this year.

Watson has been dropping absolute dimes in practice, making throws on all levels and threading the needle on the goalline. He has also been stretching the field, running bootlegs, and overall just moving really well.

Watt and Mercilus are up to their usual antics. They’ve been giving the offensive line some major headaches early on. Their health and reps in practice could only make that unit better.

In non-star injury news, Nick Martin is also healthy for the first time at this stage in the offseason. He missed his entire rookie year with an injury and was banged up a lot of last year. Martin may never be an elite center but, his health will go a long way to solidifying the offensive line in front of Watson.

The defensive line figures to get a lot better with Watt back in the fold. Regaining DJ Reader and Christian Covington from injury will be a huge boon as well. This unit will have quarterbacks and offensive lines shaking their cleats come game time.

All of these guys returning from injuries will definitely be worth watching as some of them are getting back on the field for the first time in almost a year. Staying healthy will be key but, so far, having these guys healthy in training camp bodes well for the start of the season.
