Reason #4: Making Houston great again

Not to say that Houston’s market is the best but I will say that it is the 4th largest in the U.S. While it may not whoop the beaches of California or the Big Apple, Houston has a statement to make. When people realize how big of a part oil is in the national economy, they learn that Texas is that provider and Houston is a big part of it.

Dollar sign, dollar sign, dollar sign, attractive market sort of…..?

Houston is unsurprisingly ranked second in the nation in diversity. To me, I think the best places are the ones that have experience and a story to tell behind them. A place with diversity can spread more culture, ideas and simply bring more interest to an area. There aren’t many cities that does it better than Houston can.

And to be fair with you, I think sports has greatly impacted the city as well. In basketball, the sudden arrival of Houston hero Gerald Green sparked interest in the crowd. His jacked up shots

along with his pride quickly enticed Rockets fans across the globe, let alone the city of Houston.

I can even make the connection with the NFL. The arrival of franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson has never had Houston more excited about football. With Astros well winning the championship, the Houston Texans showing a future, and Rockets becoming a threat, Houston is reaching a golden era of sports.

But in Houston, one important advantage is that a paycheck in H-Town will take you farther than plenty of other cities in the US. After an adjusted cost of living, Houston is ranked at the highest in the country at pay with $73,418 on average. Ooh oh oh, did I forget to mention, Houston skipped the idea of state tax?

C’mon peeps, guys like Charles Barkley and Shaq have still kept their houses that were bought in Houston for a reason. The price index value of a house in Houston is much less than the average house price index in the entire nation.

I know LeBron James is a guy that worries about his families, let alone how much he cares for his children.

Don’t worry LeBron, Houston has it covered.

Houston has many solid schools inside, such as Rice University and the one I will be attending in the near future, the University of Houston. U of H is a school that has been on the rise, one shot away from being in the Sweet 16 in March Madness and had a swell season in NCAA Football in 2015.  They’ve been mediocre since but I have a feeling it’s gonna boom pretty soon and if I’m wrong then I’m wrong, I don’t need any lawsuits on my hands.

But Houston schools have the brain too.

U of H ranks as a tier one research school while Rice University is ranked 18th in the nation in

Undergraduate Studies.

Those are two examples of many other great schools and districts there are in the city of Houston.

I know I have sounded like I have just been providing bullet points on random facts about Houston, and I’m not going to lie, that’s exactly what I did. I understand that I also jumped from one point to another without much transition and I am just going to pretend that is because there is too many great things about Houston that don’t even need a transition between one another.

*Yeah, that didn’t make sense to me either.*

To be brief about my strategy, I threw “pity excuses” simply to try and defy an earlier claim, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I failed miserably.

In Closing

Just like my dad, I didn’t take LeBron’s comment very well and I will proudly admit it. Now while I will admit there may or may not be stuff that is true or left out in anything I have stated in this article.

Overall, there may or may not be ways to state why or why not Houston is such a great city, but I just told you what it is, what it can be, etc.

But I will say this.

Just like I, if there is anything that I know Houston has, I know damn well it’s pride and you better bet I’ll take that statement to the grave.

I bet you there is gotta be at least one Houstonian that reads this article and said out loud, “Damn right LeBron, you read that well and you better read it good.”

Red Nation for life fools.
