Thought #5: What to expect for the future

Players that took the injury-wrecking ball from last season are starting to show full signs of recovery as Whitney Mercilus appears to be100 percent ready, J.J. Watt is almost fully recovered and Watson will be ready by training camp.

So the Texans improved their worst part of their defense, they took a positive step with arguably the worst offensive line in the NFL, the injury bug phase is starting to come to an end as our key players are healing.  The team still has plenty of cap space with a cooperative front office and the best part is that the Texans are fully committed to a quarterback who has great weapons around him.

I don’t know about you guys, but I am starting to see optimism. It’s scaring me and if you don’t know why, then I really don’t know what to tell you other than don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

I am not saying that they won’t succeed in this league because they are just so talented with such a great future in mind but we could have said the same thing for several seasons, including the last two.

However, I will say that if the Texans can avoid the injury bug and if the stars are aligned just right — with spectacular play of Watson — then there is no reason why the Patriots can’t be dethroned by the Texans.

But oh lord, here we go again.
