The Texas Hangers (Excuse me, Texas Rangers)

Yes, the Texas Rangers. The same Rangers team that had bullied us from 2010-2016. Those Texas Rangers that thought they could get away with wearing the pride of Texas on their jersey. That Texas team that decided they didn’t want to swap a home and away series after Hurricane Harvey hit.

Imagine what their fans are thinking now. They must be having mixed feelings about our championship last season. On one hand, it was nice to see a Texas team win a World Series after Hurricane Harvey. But on the other hand, it was the wrong team after they had two chances fall to waste.

So when the Opening Schedule came out, you can only imagine what they must be feeling. Just like 2012 when we won our first game against the Rangers or in 2016 when our home opener was a clobbering against the defending champion Royals in revenge, the Rangers will want to knock us out.

Why The Hate?

2016 was their year when they defeated us 17 of 21 times. However, they failed to win it all again. In 2017, the script was reversed and it all started with this.

The Script Flipper

Which led to this the next night.

MARWIN is Born

Then there was the roasting of Jeff Bannister by our favorite spokesperson Lance McCullers when Bannister proclaimed it better to wear Texas instead of Houston.

And how many times were the Rangers blamed for not swapping series with us after Harvey?

Rangers Firestorm

And on top of all that, there was the ultimate revenge.

37-6

And who gets the World Series title afterwards? You don’t need visual evidence to know that answer.

What to Expect?

With Opening Day crowds expected to be a sellout, we can expect the atmosphere to be like going to the Coliseum in the Roman days. The Rangers would surely want to beat us and remind us that 2017 was a fluke year. Well, we know otherwise. Whether we win the series against them or not, the bottom line is, for now, we have the best team in Texas.

  • First team in Texas
  • Earliest Texas Team to Make Playoffs
  • Quickest Texas Team to win a playoff game
  • First Texas Team to win a playoff series
  • Earliest Texas Team to reach World Series
  • First Texas Team to win World Series.

What more can we ask for? I know, let’s go to reason three.
