The Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt hasn’t played in a down in nearly three months and he still ranks ahead of all of the Houston sports fandom as well as many others across the globe.  Where does he rank?  Let’s find out.

Even though the Houston Texans DE hasn’t been on the field much over the past couple of years, J.J. Watt has made his impact last regardless.  He has been quite a busy man with the recovery of his devastating tibial fracture injury as well as picking up awards left and right for his courageous efforts.

Annually, the FanSided Network culls together through public opinion the Top 250 fandom of the world and the sports conglomerate just released the results for 2017:

It’s not surprising that he’d rank above all of the Houston sports fandom, but the man is ranked No. 47 worldwide which is certainly not an easy feat.  It goes to show that Watt will have a fruitful

career as a public figure long after he hangs up his cleats for one final time.

The Houston Astros were ranked 118th in the poll of polls as well.  How did the Houston Texans or the Houston Rockets rank?  Did they at all?  Take a look at the above link and find out.

Watt was recently named — along with second baseman Jose Altuve — Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year for his work and it’s definitely something that’s a long time coming considering the utmost of benevolence that he has emanated over the years.

I’m positive that he’ll be top finalist — and likely win — the Walter Payton Man of the Year, the NFL’s award given for outstanding community work.  One player from each team is nominated for the prestigious award where the values of such a dynamic player like Payton are culminated with a incredible award to boot.

I’d recommend that you take a look at the list above and look at all of the other fandom as well.  Who ranked at 250?  Just to give you an inside tip, 6’7″ New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge rounds out the list.

Next: Three plausible theories behind the Texans' injury bug

I’m thoroughly proud of Watt being ranked so highly but the tough pill to swallow is that we’re likely watching some of his last days as a player.  The plethora of injuries that he has sustained over the years has seemed insurmountable by the giant but he has always found a way.

Tip of the cap to you, J.J.

Go Texans.
