In a game of do or die, the Houston Astros came alive in Game 6 of the ALCS. Clearly, they have shown folks that they are far from dead!

Facing elimination, the Houston Astros had their backs up against the wall in the ALCS Game 6. The spacemen have come off a brutal three game set up in the Bronx.

Additionally, the bullpen has been giving up runs left and right to the New York Yankees. As was pointed out yesterday, the relief core has been the biggest weakness of the team.

All of that changed during the ALCS Game 6!

The bats came alive, as the offense scored 7 runs on 8 hits. Justin Verlander came in and through 7 innings of no run, 8 strikeout ball. The home town crowd went about as nuts as it could.

As a result, Game 7 has been forced tomorrow evening!

A Call to Arms!

The word came out late last night that the Astros will start Charlie Morton in the winner take all game tomorrow. The Yankees will send C.C. Sabathia to the mound. A.J. Hinch will counter this with a right-handed bat heavy lineup tomorrow evening.

More from House of Houston

Consequently, Lance McCullers is looking like the front runner for the first arm used out of the pen. In his one start in Game 4, he went 6 innings and gave up only 2 runs. Despite the team loss, McCullers looked incredibly sharp!

However, if it is not him, Collin McHugh is another option. He had extended relief out of the bullpen in the Game 3 blowout. As a result, he ended up putting out some of the flame in what ended up being a runaway 8-1 victory for the Yankees.

Both of the Mac’s look to be good choices to not take chances on the other arms that have struggled. Ken Giles is still a lock to close things out, should the team get enough of a lead. Even with only a couple of runs difference, the flame-throwing Kenny G will be unleashed!

Formula 101

The key for the Astros is to remember exactly what gave them a 101 win season. Tapping into that #1 offense will be among the biggest. All they need to do is carry the bat momentum from the ALCS Game 6 over into one final game before the World Series.

On top of that, the bullpen has GOT to shut the Yankees hitters down. Even giving up one run could be a rally killer. Staying locked into the strike zone is crucial for the final ALCS game tomorrow.

The Astros are nearly there! They have all they need to get the job done. And now, it’s all about the proper execution of focus!
