Houston Astros at Yankees ALCS Game 4: Everybody Hurts
The Bronx has not been very kind to the Houston Astros so far in the American League Championship. Here is what went down in the ALCS Game 4.
Game 4 of the ALCS was considered the game in which the Houston Astros could turn things around. Letting the air out of the tires of the New York Yankees and their fan base is always something of value. Especially, for any team not named the Yankees.
At first, it looked as if the spacemen would put the pinstripe boys on the brink of elimination. Yuli Gurriel has a bases clearing hit to center field, and all looked like it would be turning around in favor of the Astros.
That is, until the bullpen came in!
As I wrote in my ALCS preview, the biggest weakness facing the spacemen has been, and continues to be, the bullpen. The starting rotation has been solid, despite the bad luck that Charlie Morton faced yesterday.
Lance McCullers came in to start Game 4 of the ALCS. In all honesty, he was actually really solid through 6 innings. One would think this, coupled with the clutch hitting of Gurriel and a fielding error off a Brian McCann ground ball to score Marwin Gonzalez, would be enough to seal the deal.
Unfortunately, that would not come to be.

Chris Devenski and Joe Musgrove ended up giving up 2 runs in the 7th inning. This cut the lead in half for the Yankees. Already, the boys of the Bronx would avoid a shutout.
Ken Giles came in during the middle of the 8th inning. Instead of putting out the Yankee flame, he fanned it, and not in the good way. Giles blew both the lead and potential save by giving up another 4 runs to the Yankees, securing their victory in the ALCS Game 4.
Cold As Ice!
Additionally, the bats didn’t help matters. Beside for the Yuli hit, the offense failed, once again, to capitalize on three
errors in the game by the Yankees. If this team expects to win the World Series, something about the bats need to change quickly.

The blame game is the worse kind to play. So I’ll end by saying that the Astros have to find a way to win the final game in the Bronx tomorrow. Otherwise, they will be the ones on the brink of elimination.
I speak for everyone in the fan base when I say, the need to #EarnHistory. Right now, they are making the wrong kind of history. It’s hurting everybody, especially H-Town!
