The Bulls had no help inside

If you notice the gentleman behind Michael Jordan. That’s Horace Grant. Former championship teammate of Michael Jordan. And huge contributing factor to the first three championships the Bulls won from 1991-1993.

The reason the Bulls didn’t make it past the Orlando Magic in the 1995 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals is because here were the matchups at the power forward and center positions. Shaquille O’Neal and Horace Grant vs. Luc Longley and Toni Kukoc.

Yes. Toni Kukoc, a stretch power forward, and Luc Longley who combined averaged 10 rebounds a game in the 1995 post season were trying to outdo Shaquille O’Neal and Horace Grant, who averaged 11.9 and 10,4 rebounds per game in the 1995 postseason respectively.

There’s a reason why the Bulls went and got Dennis Rodman the following year.  It’s because they were weak down low in an era where a dominant center or power forward was necessary.

Jordan’s team that year would not have had any chance against Hakeem Olajuwon down low.  That’s why they didn’t even beat the Orlando Magic who ended up getting swept by us in the NBA Finals that year.

So already the argument is null that the Rockets would not have won if Jordan was in the league because he was in the league, performing to his peak in the playoffs, and lost to the team the Rockets eventually swept in the NBA Finals.

But just to go one step further, here’s the final reason the Rockets still would have won those two championships even if Jordan was in the league.
