Houston Astros: Three things to mull as the team hits stretch run
Fate’s Plan
If you believe in religion and the Astros lose, you might say it wasn’t in God’s plan for us to win the World Series this year. But since not everyone does believe in religion or faith, we’ll use fate for a common term to bond us all. If the Astros lose this year, it wasn’t in fate’s plan for us to win the World Series this year.
Tricky as it may seem, sports gods might have the Astros winning the World Series soon. It might not be this year or the next. But either way, we should keep fighting to be supportive of our team. We need to approach September with a single mindset.
We have nothing to lose
It’s crazy to think that way. But let’s be fair. If the Astros lose, will we be on the best teams not to win it all list? Nope! No one’s going to remember us. The only two teams that people mostly remember are the team that wins it all and the team that finishes second.

So if we get close but don’t reach it all, it’s okay! It was a good season regardless. I sometimes hate saying that because I feel a championship or bust mentality is a must. But the truth is, we’re getting close and we know it.
People outside will not give us the respect that we think we deserve. That’s okay! It’s like we’re down 3-1 in a series and are on the ropes. There’s no pressure on us. The pressure is on the team that’s trying to knock us out. Talk to me about pressure if we’re ahead 3-1 in a series. We can’t imagine that scenario because we’ve rarely been in that scenario.
Conclusion
So remember these three things. Keep your eyes on the Astros and other teams despite our lead. Prepare for a scenario that your trade target doesn’t show up. If we lose in the end, we had no pressure facing us even when we were supposed to be in the World Series.

Also, don’t get too worked up, take it one game at a time, and continue to dream about your championship because sooner or later, you won’t be disappointed.
