Houston Rockets: This Team Doesn’t Deserve Playoffs
Did you see the Houston Rockets last night against the Phoenix Suns?
I surely hope that you didn’t because it was one of the worst losses I’ve ever witnessed as a lifetime fan of my home team.
This whole season has been the strangest I’ve ever seen by far.
I’m not overstating my opinion — I MEAN IT.
We’ve had some rough seasons — few and far in-between — over the years but at least the Rockets KNEW what they were.
The 2001-02 Rockets season was the last that this team finished under .500 but it was still a fun season to watch.
I recall that Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley were hurt for most of it and Moochie Norris had to carry the torch for most of the way.
Just off memory, those were the highlights but it eventually landed us the No. 1 pick that became Yao Ming.
But this current team has absolutely ZERO identity and with just three games remaining on the season, I still don’t have any idea who the hell they are.
They’ve all got to take a long, hard look in the mirror and figure that out!
But I digress.
The team, as it is in its current state, won’t be returning to the Toyota Center hardwood next season and there will be plethora decisions made about many of the futures of the players listed on this roster.

And rightfully so!
I mean, come on, the Rockets lead the Suns by 15 points at one point during the game and they lose by nine?
Those fans who were in attendance of last night’s game certainly have the right to boo as they did.
As we’ve all seen, there is absolutely no chemistry on this team.
You essentially have two sides of players of this team — those who want to win and give a damn and those who could care less and have other agendas that they must keep up with.
When those two mindsets are mixed together, it’s certainly bad news for a team that’s trying to be successful!
But it seems as if the negative forces of those who don’t give a damn have ultimately won the battle.
Not only that, but it has likely cost them a chance at a playoff berth and more than likely a winning record.

All I know is that Daryl Morey will need to look to dismantling this team and build some help surrounding James Harden because he certainly needs it.
By the way, I’m not absolving Harden any of wrong doing because I have reason to believe — but I have no proof — that he was instrumental in getting Kevin McHale fired in the first place.
But he truly is one of the most gifted basketball players I’ve ever seen and there’s absolutely no way I’d trade him.
So there’s that.
But ultimately this team doesn’t even deserve to be one of 16 representatives in the 2016 NBA Playoffs.
This season has played out like an awful dream and I’m ready for it to be over.
The Rockets should bow out gracefully and let the Dallas Mavericks — I thought I’d never have to admit that…ugh — as well as Utah Jazz fill out the bottom portion of the seeding.
At least those two teams — especially the Jazz — give a damn and want the playoffs so bad, they can taste it!

The Jazz are up-and-coming and it will only be a matter of time where they will be perennial contenders just as they were in the yesteryear when John Stockton and Karl Malone were the main course.
I’m 35-years-old and I have NEVER seen such a farce of a Rockets’ basketball season in my life!
It’s time to tear it down and rebuild — who’s with me?
Go Rockets.
