6. Dwight “Superman” Howard
“D12”, “The Man of Steel” or as I like to call him “The three-time Defensive Player of the Year”, Mr. Dwight Howard comes in at #6.
While he’s only been on the Rockets for two seasons, what he’s accomplished and the numbers he’s put up both regular and post season make it hard for me to keep him out the top 10.
In his short time here, Dwight Howard has already been further than the guys I will put after him on this list in Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. Although last season he missed 40+ games when it came to post season play, Dwight was consistent and reliable as usual.

In just two seasons, Howard has averaged 19.3 points per game, 12.9 rebounds per game and two blocks per game. The days of him carrying a team are long gone but it’s the impact that he makes on both ends of the floor alongside his teammates that makes him invaluable.
He is now going into his 12th season in the NBA and he has been sidelined quite often with a myriad of injuries. But his work-ethic and commitment to help his team win remains largely unquestioned as he was an integral component of the Rockets’ magical playoff run this past season.
He consistently shows up in the playoffs, so even though we may not see him all 82 games in a season, we know that he’ll be there when we need him the most — when it counts.
Although his chapter with the Rockets hasn’t been fully written yet, he’ll be cemented as one of the greatest bigs this team has ever had.
As much as he seems to like it here, all bets are on that the eight-time All-Star finishes his career in the Bayou City.
