Take a gander at this pic that Andrew Lind of the Tidewater News, a Southern Virginia thrice-weekly newspaper, shared on Twitter:

He may not be the perpetrator of the leak himself but he has certainly provided the best photo that gives us fans a pretty good idea of what direction the NBA is headed.

There are many photos circulating that are of just bad quality so I’ve provided this one so that you can be the judge of these designs.

It also appears that this is just one page of likely many updates that the NBA has planned for 2015-16 as well.

The NBA apparently has plans to offer a refresh to all uniforms including the home, away, alternate and even new uniforms for the officials as well.

Although this rumor has not been confirmed by the NBA, it’s awesome to know that they are on a constant pursuit to be fresh and innovative.

For an empire for revenues that will likely be north of $5 Billion — yes, with a capital B — it’s to be expected.

According to the pic, there are different uniform types categorized as New Identity, Pride and Stretch.

In addition, there appears to be additions to the popular Hardwood Classics collection and a refresh to military-themed nights with it being dubbed as “Hoops For Troops.”

The structure of the New Identity design appears the same as today’s uniform — wider-cut at the top — but with a exponential facelift of the lettering and the accompanying logos for each team.

  • The Pride uniforms are the most noticeable add — the NBA has experienced with sleeved-jerseys for quite some time usually tinkering with displaying them during the games slated for around the Christmas holiday games.

So this certainly means the NBA has liked the critical reception and could move forward with implementation.

Did you notice that the NBA does have a design for the Rockets?

It’s accentuated in celebrated ketchup and mustard fashion with our beloved moniker “Clutch City” on the front!

I certainly hope the NBA release those unis!

I’ll be the first in line to get mine! Wow!

And then finally the stretch design is revealed which has more of a classic feel from jersey designs of yesteryear with the thinner-cut top and simplistic logo designs and lettering.

Look back at the pic — notice that there is a jersey quite similar to the sleeved-jerseys the Rockets wore this past December in observance of the Chinese New Year.

    You remember right?

It was bright red with gold trim with Chinese-styled lettering.

Although that design may not be specifically for the Rockets, I think that it is and they may bring that back but it will be in stretch fashion.

    More from Houston Rockets

It’s something I’d like to see but I’m more excited the jersey that have “Clutch City” on the front.

In my opinion, I think that design will sell mightily and will be a boon for the Rockets apparel sales.

Of course, we all know that the product out on the court is more important it’s nice to know our guys will look out good out there doing what they do best.

And we’ll have something new to wear around town as well.

Let’s just hope this leak becomes true — my fingers are crossed!

    Go Rockets!
