Brandon Jennings just completed his 6th season in the NBA. Jennings career started off well in his rookie season shooting 37% on his 3’s to go with 15.5 point a game and 5.7 assists.
But after that he quickly became an erratic shot chucker and the shooting percentages dipped to 32-33% and the assists numbers went down. This was possibly the result of playing in Milwaukee where they have struggled to field a team that can compete until this past season.
Jennings seemed to mature after that and his shooting percentages went back up as did his assist numbers.
But Jennings has always been a dynamic offensive player that has the quickness and ball skills to create his own shot. He’s also shown while in Detroit, with more talent around him, that he can distribute the ball well and facilitate the offense better than he did in Milwaukee.
There is strong speculation that the Pistons will be willing to trade Jennings this off-season. After trading, last season, for restricted free agent Reggie Jackson and expressing a desire to resign Jackson there’s not likely room for both on the Pistons roster.
Jennings has one more season remaining on his contract at $8.3 million.
There is also a perfect trade fit with the Rockets.
Trade: Terrence Jones & Kostas Papanikolaou for Brandon Jennings

The Pistons are also very likely to lose power forward-center Greg Monroe to free agency. That leaves a hole for them at power forward to play next to budding star Andre Drummond.
Terrence Jones would fit very nicely as a young power forward with Drummond. The deal would have to include Papanikolaou as well to make the dollars work. With the relatively thin roster that the Pistons have, Papanikolaou may very well be a desirable add as well as a player that can play both the 3 and 4.
With what the Rockets are hoping to add in terms of a dynamic offensive player at guard, salary amount and fit for a trade with the other team, Jennings should be the most likely of the group.
