“Easy Like Sunday Morning”

Rockets 99, Wizards 91:  This was another Sunday nationally-televised matinee that the Rockets undertook that they had control from the tip.  Trevor Ariza had the opportunity to face his former team that seems to be missing something without his presence.  The same things that he does for us are what’s likely missing from the Wizards’ interior defense.

The Wizards are hobbling to the finish line — 5-5 in the last 10 games — although they are a lock to make the playoffs and currently possess the No. 5 seed in the East, the thought of them repeating last year’s commendable performance of getting out of the first round does not seem as certain.

The Rockets were up by as much 15 points at some points in the game; and although the Wizards did get within six points with 55 seconds left, the Rox found a way to win as always.

Pablo Prigioni confidently put the game away sinking two big free throws with 16 seconds left.  James Harden led the Rockets in scoring with 24 points, six assists.  Josh Smith had 14/10 with two blocks after getting the nod to start, Dwight Howard had 18/10 and Ariza had 13/8 and two steals.  John Wall had 25 points, 12 dimes, eight rebounds and four steals for the Wizards.
