Houston Astros MiLB Week In Review

For some of you all that may have missed it there were some promotions this week. Kyle Smith, RHP acquired from the Royals for Justin Maxwell, was promoted to Corpus Christi and made his debut this week. Kent Emanuel, LHP drafted in the 3rd round in 2013, was promoted to Lancaster and made his debut as well. Also, Carlos Correa returned to action. Here are the numbers for the week.

AAA: Oklahoma City Redhawks (16-15) went 3-4 this week.

Domingo Santana is now hitting .300 on the season with 3 HR, 10 2B and 20 RBI as a 21 year old. Not featured up top but Jon Singleton hit two more HRs this week giving him 10 on the season. He has a 1.038 OPS this season. Folty is slowing bringing his ERA back down and it is now at 4.88. He now has 19 SO in 24 IP this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (15-15) went 2-5 this week.

Andrew Aplin has been hot of late. Now batting .298 on the season with a .436 OBP. Heineman is hitting well too, up to .283 with the batting average and only has 7 SO in 17 games. As expected, Luis Cruz and Thomas Shirley both pitched great again this week. The two combined has pitched 60 IP, 43 H, 10 ER, 14 BB, 60 SO. Kyle Smith also made his debut giving up 6 ER in 5 IP although he had 0 BB/6 SO.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (18-13) went 4-3 this week.

Tony Kemp

is having a great season. He is hitting .325 BA, 7 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR, 15 RBI, 12 SB and 20 BB/14 SO. Teoscar is also hitting well and leads Lancaster in RBIs with 23.

Carlos Correa

returned to action and had three hits in three games. McCullers has dominated the Cal League so far. He has a 2.51 ERA in 28.2 IP, 21 H, 8 ER, 12 BB, 33 SO.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (12-17) went 2-5 this week.

Brett Phillips is having a breakout season so far. He is hitting .314 with 15 BB/20 SO. Chan Moon is hitting .310 with 8 SB. Chris Lee has a 2.14 ERA but has 15 BB/16 SO. Gonzalo Sanudo has only given up 2 ER in 21 IP this season.
