3. Houston Dynamo Crazy Series Win Over NY Red Bulls (November 3rd and 6th)
Many Houstonians have yet to embrace the Dynamo and those people missed an absolutely incredible series with the NY Red Bulls. The Dynamo made the playoffs on the last day of the season and went on incredible ride that ended against Sporting KC.
Just before the Sporting KC series, the Dynamo faced the New York Red Bulls in a two-game series. The first game appeared to be all Red Bulls early as they went up 2-0 at the half. However, the Dynamo came out in the second half and scored in the 51st minutes. The Dynamo pushed and pushed all second half and finally caught a break in extra time as Omar Cummings rebounded a miss off Bobby Boswell and snuck it past the goalie to salvage a 2-2 split.
The second game was equally as thrilling and Omar Cummings was the hero again. After finishing the first half in a 1-1 tie, the Red Bulls seemed to dominate the Dynamo in the second half but they were unable to convert on any attempts. Dynamo GK Tally Hall made save after save to keep the Dynamo season alive. Cummings gave the Dynamo a 2-1 lead and eventually the series win with his goal in the 104th minute
For anyone who was watching that series or following along on Twitter, you know how crazy it was. I hope the Dynamo made a few more fans in Houston, as they deserve to have many fans with the success they have had since their inaugural season in 2006.
