Week 14 Injury Report: Houston Texans Vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

facebooktwitterreddit

The Houston Texans just completed clobbering the Tennessee Titans 45-21 this past Sunday.

Although they’re lighter competition, they’re still an NFL football team worthy to compete with.

I never thought I’d see such a rout — I honestly expected to see a close game with the Texans looking bad and then putting it together at the end to get the job done.

But Ryan Fitzpatrick led the triumphant march of the Texans down field and it made a difference with his franchise-record six touchdown passes.

He deservedly received AFC Offensive Player of the Week accolades for his hard work.

Let’s hope he can keep it up — we need him to do so as the Texans still have a fighting chance to make something meaningful of this season other than that we have more than doubled or wins from last season.

Here’s some injuries that you need to be aware of as each team takes the field tomorrow.

Take a look:

For the Houston Texans, here are the players that are listed on the injury report:

Clowney and Graham have been ruled out for tomorrow’s contest.  Manning is listed as questionable.  Clabo, Cushing, Denham, Dent, Foster, Grimes, Jackson, Johnson, Joseph, Lechler, Newton, Pickett and Tarpinian are probable and are good to go.

Clowney will have a second surgery on his knee and has been placed on injured reserve.  He’s done for the year — I honestly thought that this was the best solution for him so he can work things out in the off season and be presumably ready to go by training camp.  Go on, shut him down, dust him off and try again next season.  Whitney Mericilus has certainly stepped in his absence while he has been out — he knows what to do now that he knows that spot is his full-time for the rest of the season.

Graham sustained an ankle injury early in Sunday’s action against the Titans and hasn’t practiced all week.  Ryan Griffin and C.J. Fiedorowicz will be ready to take any needed snaps with Anthony Denham in the waiting if needed.

Denham was just called up from the practice squad this week because of the serious extent of Graham’s injury.

ESPN’s Tania Ganguli reports:

If you haven’t had a chance to read about his journey to the NFL, please do so, what an inspiring story.  Take a look at it here.

Manning has been limited in practice all week but I think he’ll likely give it go.  Besides, he may lay another bone-crunching hit like he did on Justin Hunter last Sunday. He hit Hunter so hard that he lacerated his spleen and had to spend some time in the hospital!

Anyway, K-Jax will be probable for tomorrow!  This is excellent news considering we need a talented corner like himself out there on the field.  He has been needed and hopefully he can make a difference on the amount of passing yards the team has given up this season!  He has looked good in practice all week!

The Houston Texans’ Drew Dougherty reports:

And here’s the injury report for the Jacksonville Jaguars:

Branch and Fortt have been ruled out.  Reynolds and Streeter are listed as questionable.  Bortles, Clemons, Evans, George, Gerhart and Marks are probable.

The Jaguars starting bunch are mostly healthy as all of the guys that are out or questionable are further down the depth chart.

And there you have it — lots of injuries for the Texans and very few for the Jaguars.
