After a rough postseason and offseason, every major media outlet in sports had written the Houston Rockets off this season. Even Houston media had predicted this season the Houston Rockets would be a shell of their former self this season.

Here we are, five games into the season, and not only have the Houston Rockets surpassed expectations, their perception around the league has taken a complete 360 degree turn. Many are starting to believe in them.

What’s better for Houston is that the powerhouse OKC Thunder are missing two of their stars due to injuries and you never know if this is the year the Spurs start to noticeably age. Could the Rockets be the best in the West? Let’s not go too far yet, but don’t be surprised if it happens.
