The Houston Rockets will likely be adding a free agent this summer. The question remains whether or not the Rockets will look for a big name or role player.

The Rockets were knocked out of the playoffs a lot earlier than anyone expected, and will look to make additions this summer.

Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and other stars are potential trade candidates but there are some good pieces available that can choose where they’d like to play next season. The Rockets will have to do a lot of finagling with their cap, but they need to improve this team, and you know GM Daryl Morey and Owner Leslie Alexander will do everything they can do get this team to the NBA Finals.

With obvious holes on the bench, but a desire to add a third star, we’ll take a look at the five free agents the Houston Rockets should consider via the free agency.

The Houston Rockets need to grab a point guard, then grab a man at the 3 to commit to, what makes sense would be to pry Reggie Jackson from OKC, maybe? Looking at a trade like that would be more sensible because OKC is only a few better bench players away from being legit, legit. Adding on to that, they would still have holes to fill, the player that makes the most sense on this article is actually not on here, Caron Butler is the best fit for Houston this summer, with that being said, if I’m Houston, I’d give Butler an instant cheaper 2 year deal,(maybe via trade), which would enable the Rockets to try to land Gasol.
HOUSTON RECIEVES: Reggie Jackson, Caron Butler, Pau Gasol,Bismack Biyumbo, OKC and CHA future Draft Picks.
CHARLOTTE RECIEVES: Kent Bazemore, Chandler Parsons, Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill and OKC Future Draft Pick.
LAKERS RECIEVE: Thabo Sefolosha, Jeremy Lin,Josh McRoberts, Gerald Henderson, LAL Future Draft Picks.
OKC RECIEVES: Omer Asik, Luke Ridnour, Nick Young, LAL Future Draft Pick, CHA Future Draft Pick

This is a big trade with a lot of moving pieces. Not sure if this is possible with salary implications.

get rid of harden. the guy is a great asset or sidekick but not THE guy. add rondo and anthony. adding a scoring/rebounding PF like randolph or gasol would be good. use lin and asik as bait to get it done. lin may be useful in a bench role though.

You really think Harden should go? Why?
