Gallery Furniture Loses $7 Million In Super Bowl Promotion

Remember when we told you about the Gallery Furniture Super Bowl promotion earlier this week? Well, I hope y’all pounced all over it because you would likely be sitting on free furniture as you read this article.

The promotion was simple. If you bought $6,000 worth of furniture/accessories from Gallery Furniture before the big game and the Seahawks win, then YOU get your furniture absolutely free, no strings attached.

The Denver Broncos were the favorites heading into the game, but were outplayed from the moment Manny Ramirez misfired the first snap of the game into the end zone for a safety. Manny being Manny, right?

And that bad snap may have cost Mattress Mack $7 million. Here was his response following the game.

I’m sure he would have preferred the Broncos coming out victorious but hey, YOLO! We would like to think Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale was smart enough to hedge his bets on this one after losing over $600,000 in the first promotion, but you never know.

UPDATE: Mattress Mack tells us via Twitter he did not hedge his bets, nor was there an insurance policy.

Mark Berman (MyFox26) confirmed the $7 million amount. It looks like some on Twitter took part in the promotion, while others wish they had.

Well I guess it’s true what they say…
