Former Houston Texans offensive lineman Kendall Lamm has landed a huge opportunity in free agency with one of the best teams in the NFL. According to Pete Schrager of NFL Media, Lamm has signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lamm has spent the last three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, starting in 16 out of 51 games (33 appearances). The veteran tackle played 51% of offensive snaps this past season before suffering a season-ending back injury in December.

According to Alain Poupart of Miami Dolphins on SI, the former Texan considered retirement after the 2024 campaign.

"It's been among the more trying things that I've had to deal with, Lamm said. I have a disc in my left side and my back that's bulging into one of my nerves that's causing my entire left side to go numb. It has been one of the more trying things to try to sleep at night. It's been one of the more trying things trying to walk even that Sunday morning before the game, like I could barely feel certain things in my left side. But of course, we do, we try to do what we can for the team, and I know we wanted to make the playoffs, and playing is near and dear to me. It's a sacred thing, so I try my best to do whatever I can to help.

But at the same time, as I've been told, this is nothing to play with, so the procedure will be done when it's done. And you know, I appreciate all the well wishes and everything. I know I said this might be my last year, and we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Lamm posted an 83.1 pass-blocking grade (10th among 141 qualified tackles) and a 53.7 run-blocking grade (109th), per Pro Football Focus. The veteran lineman began his professional career with the Texans in 2015.

The 32-year-old offensive lineman signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft. Lamm appeared in 55 games (24 starts) across four seasons with Houston.

In 2018, the former Appalachian State offensive lineman started in 13 out of 15 games at right tackle, playing a career-high 84% of offensive snaps.

After his four-year stint with the Texans, Lamm played two years with the Cleveland Browns and one year with the Tennessee Titans. Now, the veteran lineman will get to play with the reigning Super Bowl champs and potentially compete for their swing tackle role.
