The Houston Texans have been active this offseason, as they've seen multiple players leave town in free agency. They also traded LT Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders for draft compensation.

They also lost Stefon Diggs to the New England Patriots, who signed a three-year, $69 million deal. The Texans need more difference-makers at the receiver position and the 2025 NFL Draft will be an asset for them to bring in more talent.

With less than a month away from the NFL Draft, Pro Days are happening around the country. GM Nick Caserio was down at the University of Texas Pro Day on March 25. He got a close look at multiple prospects, including WR Matthew Golden.

Nick Schwager of SB Nation posted on his Instagram account a picture of Caserio getting a close look at Golden during his workout. The young playmaker was seen liking that post, indicating that he could be open to getting drafted by Houston.

Matthew Golden Looks Open to the Texans Drafting Him

The Texans have a clear void in the wide receiver room with Diggs gone and Tank Dell rehabbing from his devastating knee injury.

Houston owns the 25th overall pick, putting them in the range to potentially draft Golden. He's a quick, twitchy, and explosive pass catcher. The Texas native uses his body control to make acrobatic catches. During the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran a 4.29 40-yard dash with a 1.29 10-yard split.

Golden spent two years at the University of Houston before transferring to Texas. Last season, he posted career highs in catches (58), receiving yards (987), and touchdowns (9) in his lone campaign with the Longhorns. The 21-year-old has also played football in the state of Texas his whole life. He played high school ball at Klein Cain High School in Harris County, Texas.

He wants that trend to continue going forward, and it looks like he would be thrilled to get drafted by Houston. They need to bolster the WR room in the NFL Draft and Golden may be an option in the first round.
