Houston Texans pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. has lived up to the hype of being a first-round pick in his first two years in the league.
If he continues at his current pace, Anderson could become the next great Texans pass rusher. However, for that to happen, the Texans must re-sign him to a massive second contract soon.
The Texans have done a good job this offseason taking care of their homegrown players, such as Derek Stingley Jr. and Jalen Pitre. On Tuesday, Anderson told Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 that he wants to be with the organization for years to come.

“Most definitely. I want to be here for the rest of my career,” Anderson said with a smile.
If you are a Texans fan, you love to hear Anderson say that, as it shows what type of culture head coach DeMeco Ryans is building. In Anderson’s first two years with the club, the Texans have made the playoffs and won a game each time.
The former third overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft exploded onto the scene with 45 combined tackles, 22 quarterback hits, 10 quarterback hits, seven sacks, and a pass deflection in his rookie season. Anderson was rewarded for his exceptional play in 2023 as he was named to the Pro Bowl and won Defensive Rookie of the Year.
After a phenomenal rookie year, the young defensive end wreaked havoc on opposing QBs again last campaign. The former Alabama star defender racked up 37 combined tackles, 19 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, two pass deflections, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He was again selected for the Pro Bowl Games.
With their core mostly still young and getting better every year, there’s no reason why Houston can’t be in the contender tier in the AFC. Anderson is part of that core and making a name for himself around the league. If the former first-round pick has another great season in 2025, he’ll set himself up for a huge payday with the Texans.
