The Houston Texans made some sweeping changes to the roster this offseason, and the focus was on CJ Stroud.

The Texans traded away Laremy Tunsil and released Shaq Mason. They decided to bring in Cam Robinson, Aireontae Ersery, Laken Tomlinson, and Trent Brown along the offensive line. In 2024, Houston was fourth in the league in sacks allowed (54).

The Texans also made some additions in the receiver room after Stefon Diggs left in free agency, and Tank Dell is rehabbing from a major knee injury. Instead of staying pat, they traded for Christian Kirk before adding Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the 2025 NFL draft.

It's obvious the Texans wanted to make sure that Stroud was surrounded, and he has no excuse going into 2025.

It's clear he's their franchise QB going forward, but now he needs to take things to another level. His play took a dip in his sophomore season as his touchdown passes decreased from 23 to 20, while interceptions went up from five to 13.

The team wanted to make sure he had protection up front with the playmakers on the outside who can help win besides Nico Collins.

The Ohio State product is eligible for an extension, but the odds are that talks could intensify after the 2025 season. If Stroud balls out and leads the Texans to a deep postseason run, he would be looking at a mega extension.

Nick Caserio and DeMeco Ryans understand that the QB needs to be around quality playmakers and needs to be kept upright.

They saw they weren't good enough to compete in 2024 and decided to make some dramatic changes. All of these moves were made to help Stroud's life, and it's up to him to answer the call.

The Texans didn't leave any stone unturned and made sure to help out their franchise QB.
