The Houston Texans enter the 2025 campaign as the reigning AFC South champions and they will look to keep that trend going with the moves they have made in the offseason.
One of the new faces joining the Texans is Jayden Higgins, as the former Iowa State University standout wide receiver was selected by Houston with the No. 34 overall pick. Now that he is part of the Texans' core group of weapons on the outside, Higgins is eager to get to work with his new quarterback, CJ Stroud, as he knows the Pro Bowl signal-caller will help take his game to a brand new level.
“Dynamic quarterback, a playmaker," Higgins said when discussing Stroud. "Somebody that’s going to elevate my game but I feel like I can come in and elevate his game as well.”

As high as Higgins is on Stroud and the talent he possesses, he knows that his presence and the skills he brings to the table should make life easier on his new quarterback.
Given the type of production Higgins enjoyed throughout his collegiate career, starting at Eastern Kentucky University before ultimately finishing at Iowa State, he should be a perfect fit alongside Nico Collins.
A second-team All-Big XII selection in 2024, Higgins provides Stroud with a large, athletic target to throw to as the wideout stands over 6'4" tall and ran a 4.4 at the 2025 NFL Combine to go along with a 39-inch vertical leap. To put it plainly, Higgins is the type of receiver that will go up and get the ball which should only make this Texans offense more dangerous in the red zone.
With the pieces that Houston's front office has put together on the offensive side of the ball, this Texans team should be one of the more dynamic attacks in the NFL. CJ Stroud and company can beat opposing defenses in a variety of ways, including on the ground with running back Joe Mixon.
Given what Higgins believes he can do to help impact winning in Houston, this is going to be an offense that will keep defensive coordinators up at night.
