The Houston Texans have officially turned the page onto the offseason with Super Bowl 59 in the backburner. The Texans have made it to the Divisional Round in each of the past two seasons under DeMeco Ryans.
The Texans need to make some tweaks to the roster, but they have some good young foundational players on the team. Cornerback Kamari Lassiter was a 2024 second-round pick and immediately had a positive impact on the team.
Lassiter is a Georgia product and gave back to his alma mater after the season.

Texans News: Kamari Lassiter Gave Back to the University of Georgia
In an article posted by Georgia football's official X page, Lassiter gave a gift to the UGA Athletic Association's Scholarship Endowment Fund. He contributed $4,000 back to the UGAAA, signifying his No. 4 Texans jersey. His donation will help cover costs associated with tuition, fees, room and board, and other items.
Lassiter is a Savannah, GA native and wanted to give resources back to his hometown school. This is a selfless act from a 22-year-old.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said, "We are grateful for Kamari giving back to the program. His mother, Kammie, and his family instilled values and a work ethic in him, and he's developing into a man we can all be proud of. Kamari was a special player for us during the 2021 and 2022 championship runs, and he is proving what sort of competitor he will now be in the NFL."
Lassiter spent three seasons with the Bulldogs, securing two national championships. He's now a stable force in the secondary for Houston.
In 14 games for Houston this season, Lassiter recorded 58 total tackles, 10 pass deflections, and three interceptions. According to PFF, he had a 70 overall grade (52nd among 223 eligible corners) and a 72.6 coverage (36th among 223 eligible corners).
He and Derek Stingley form an exciting duo in the Texans secondary.
