The NFL has taken over news cycles this week as the legal tampering period opened on Monday. Houston has made a flurry of additions while also making two surprising trades.
On Monday, the Texans traded LT Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders for draft compensation. They didn't stop there, as they acquired safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a 2026 sixth-rounder for G Kenyon Green and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
With all this movement happening in Houston, a former team legend found a new home for the 2025 season. According to Jordan Schultz, WR DeAndre Hopkins is signing with the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year, $6 million deal.
This move comes a couple of months after Hopkins landed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Last October, the Tennessee Titans traded Hopkins to the Chiefs in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick.
They badly needed help in the WR room after Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice went down with injuries. Over 10 regular-season games, Hopkins racked up 41 receptions for 437 yards and four touchdowns.
He didn't produce much in the postseason, posting three catches (8 targets) for 29 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs ended up losing Super Bowl 59 to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Hopkins wasn't able to secure his first-ever Super Bowl ring.
He now lands with another contender in Baltimore and hopes to make a deep playoff run again.
The Clemson product has been an elite receiver throughout his NFL career. He has five All-Pro and five Pro Bowl nods under his belt. Over seven seasons with the Texans, he was one of the best wide receivers to ever suit up for them. He's currently second in team history in catches (632), receiving yards (8,602), and receiving touchdowns (54).
Hopkins only trails Hall-of-Famer Andre Johnson in these categories.
The South Carolina native is looking for a championship to add to his resume, and he believes the Ravens give him the best chance to do so in 2025.
