The Houston Texans have had success in the first two seasons with DeMeco Ryans at head coach and C.J. Stroud under center.
They have made it to the Divisional Round in each of the past two seasons. While that is great to see, receiver Tank Dell has gone down with a season-ending injury during both campaigns.
During a press conference on Thursday, Ryans gave an encouraging update on Dell.
He said, "Tank (Dell) is in much better spirits...He's on the right track. We'll see where he ends up as he progresses through rehab. But it's great to see the smile on his face."

Demeco Ryans Gave a Positive Update on Tank Dell
During the Week 16 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dell suffered a significant knee injury. He tore his ACL, MCL, LCL, a dislocated knee injury, and damage to his meniscus. He sustained that injury when he caught a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
It's been a rough two years for the former Houston Cougars standout. His rookie season, he fractured his fibula and suffered a minor gunshot wound in a Florida shooting.
In 25 games for the Texans, Dell had 98 receptions (156 targets) for 1,376 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns. He's built an outstanding relationship with Stroud off the field.
Despite being sidelined with a devastating injury again, the 25-year-old is in good spirits. There have been no setbacks during his rehab thus far and he's continuing to put a smile on his face. Keeping a positive outlook shows the mental toughness that he has.
The Texans had one of the best receiver trios in the league when they had Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs, and Dell on the field together.
With Dell recovering and Diggs hitting free agency after tearing his ACL, things could look very different in H-Town next season.
