The Houston Texans have cemented themselves as the top of the class in the AFC South after winning their second-straight division title last season.
The Texans are slowly putting themselves in that AFC contenders’ conversation with the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals after winning a playoff game in each of the last two seasons.
That said, it puts the three other teams in the AFC South behind the 8-ball with Houston’s young core taking notable strides over the last two years. However, the Texans cannot let their foot off the gas, as the other teams have made changes this offseason and are looking to challenge them for the top spot.
One of those teams is the Indianapolis Colts, who have had some tightly contested battles against the Texans over the years. Last season, the Texans swept the two-game regular season series. The Colts and Texans are scheduled to play each other in Weeks 13 and 18 this upcoming season.
New Indianapolis Colts cornerback Camryn Bynum is already looking forward to those matchups and said this about the Week 18 game on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams on Thursday.
“And it's smart they put it at 18 because they know that will be the game that decides it all,” Byrum said. The new Colts defensive back also said he’s got it from both sides about this rivalry, and has learned the importance of it.
However, Bynum also made sure to give the Texans props. He said that they are a really good team and a stacked team.
Bynum faced the Texans last season when he was on the Minnesota Vikings. The Texans didn’t fare well against the Vikings, losing 34-7. Bynum had six combined tackles, a pass deflection, and an interception.
Nonetheless, C.J. Stroud and Co. hope to play better when they see Bynum again, this time with the Colts.
