The Houston Rockets have made it publicly known that they will be major players in the NBA trade market this offseason. The Rockets feel like they are extremely close to being a NBA title contender for years to come. The team has shown a clear commitment to improving its roster over the past three to four seasons.
However, the Rockets know that they must add a superstar to put them over the top. They have their eyes on a prolific future NBA Hall-of-Famer to add to their team nucleus. That player is current Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant.
Durant is sought after by not just the Rockets, but also other NBA teams looking to become contenders. Teams are after him because of his prolific scoring ability and championship experience.
Rockets Must Do Everything They Can to Add Kevin Durant
"The Rockets and the Heat are more realistic as of right now for Kevin Durant..

There's more motivated teams than the Spurs..
What the other teams are offering is just a little bit more aggressive" ~ @ShamsCharania #PMSLive https://t.co/qWwfjIuRHH pic.twitter.com/JVn7LQ6A58
The Suns and Durant have reportedly mutually agreed to trade him to the team of his choice. Durant has earned that respect based on bringing effort during his time with the Suns. He has also earned that based on his accomplishments throughout his 18-year NBA career. Durant has averaged 27.2 points, 7.0 assists, and 4.4 assists for his career, and 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns last season.
Kevin Durant has not dropped off much from his career averages. Durant is still a bona fide NBA superstar who has tremendous ability to put the ball in the basket. The Rockets know this and are doing whatever they can to make a deal.
The Rockets have a strong roster as currently constructed. However, the Rockets tend to stall out on offense. The addition of Durant would instantly solve this problem. If the Rockets come to the table with the right mix of players and draft picks that the Suns want, then we could see Kevin Durant in a Houston Rockets uniform this fall.
