There has been a ton of movement along the Houston Texans roster this offseason. They had players walk in free agency, including receiver Stefon Diggs.
On March 25, the New England Patriots signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal that included $26 million guaranteed. He will look to be the No. 1 option in the passing attack for the Pats but they are already protecting themselves in case things don't work out.
According to Jordan Schultz, the Pats have an out after the first year of the contract.
The #Patriots’ contract with WR Stefon Diggs has “an out” after the first year, per @Schultz_Report.

Pats Could Move On From Stefon Diggs After One Season
The Patriots made an aggressive offer to land Diggs, but that doesn't mean it didn't come with some risks. Diggs tore his ACL last October and will turn 32 years old in November.
While there are reports that Diggs is reportedly ahead of schedule. He's running at full speed and is getting comfortable changing directions. Diggs plans to be ready for the start of the season but that doesn't mean he'll be the same player he was prior to going down.
The 31-year-old is known for being a crafty route runner with strong hands at the catch point. Before suffering a season-ending knee injury last season, Diggs had 47 catches for 496 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The Patriots have been searching for a No. 1 WR for a while now and believe Diggs provides that. Whether that's true remains to be seen but New England is confident after they hosted Diggs for a visit.
Houston made a big swing to bring in Diggs last offseason but things didn't end the way they envisioned. Instead, he was with the team for just one year and both sides decided to head in a different direction.
Diggs will also get a chance to face off against his former team the Buffalo Bills, which also could have played a role in his decision to sign with New England.
