The Houston Texans entered this offseason with a clear agenda, hoping to improve a struggling offense that ranked 19th in yards per play (5.2) during the 2024 campaign despite having a franchise quarterback in C.J. Stroud.
It was obvious from the beginnign that Houston needed to support Stroud in a better way, and general manager Nick Caserio didn't ignore his task.
Joe Mixon is still the incumbent starter, though former Cleveland Browns All-Pro Nick Chubb is now part of the organization as well. That's great news for Houston, and it looks like Chubb may find himself a large payday should he perform as expected.

This answer from Nick Chubb isn't getting talked about enough.

By any measure, Chubb has been one of the best running backs of the last decade, routinely dominating en route to four Pro Bowl appearances.
Chubb had a devastating knee injury that derailed most of his last two seasons, as he didn't play in 2023 and appeared in only eight games in 2024. Regardless, this is a person who demands respect and should be considered as one of the best players of his era.
It's rare to find someone with Chubb's talent. He's averaged 5.1 yards per carry during his career and at only 29 years old, it's reasonable to think there's some juice left in the tank. Chubb is a great running back, and his potential duo with Mixon should make fans feel excited.
In theory, Mixon and Chubb could be a two-headed monster who dominate early-down plays and let Stroud sling it to Nico Collins, Jayden Higgens, and Jaylin Noel on latter downs. Should that happen, there's no question how valuable Chubb with prove to be for the franchise. He has a chance to make a legacy, particularly for an organization hoping to overcome doubts about its ability to usurp the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Buffalo Bills of the AFC.
For now, Chubb should be a fixture of the offense. If he performs well, Casario might be debating whether or not he loads up the "Brinks Truck" for someone of Chubb's caliber.
