Last week, on the first day of the legal tampering, the Houston Texans shockingly parted ways with Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil. The Texans traded Tunsil and a 2025 fourth-round pick to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a 2025 third-round and a 2025 seventh-round, and a 2026 second-round and a 2026 fourth-round pick.

It was a sizable haul for the Texans, who are revamping their offensive line after seeing C.J. Stroud sacked 52 times during the regular season and eight times in the AFC divisional round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Meanwhile, it will be a fresh start for Tunsil, who is joining a Commanders team that went to the NFC title game with the Offensive Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels. That said, Tunsil doesn’t have any hard feelings for the Texans as he said in his introductory Commanders press conference on Monday.

"They drafted some young guys, and they hit on every draft pick. They're trying to keep those guys together, so I fully understand, Tunsil said (h/t Nick Shook of NFL.com).

They just paid (cornerback Derek) Stingley today, they gave that boy that bag. So I truly understand. It's no hard feelings. At the end of the day, it's a business. I don't take anything personal. It's no hard feelings against the Houston Texans."

It won’t be easy to replace the veteran offensive lineman, who was named to the Pro Bowl in five out of his six seasons with the Texans. However, the Texans have reportedly spent some draft capital over the last few years on the offensive line.

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Texans used a second round pick on tackle Blake Fisher and then a seventh round pick on LaDarius Henderson. Then in 2023, Houston took Juice Scruggs in the second round and Jarret Patterson in the sixth round.

To fill Tunsil’s spot on the offensive line, the Texans will reportedly move Tytus Howard to left tackle, while Fisher will step in at right tackle. We’ll see if the Texans will make any moves to address the offensive line this offseason, but fans will be watching to see what happens with Tunsil in Washington.
