The 2025 offseason has officially begun. Super Bowl 59 is in the books, as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
Now all 32 teams in the league are focused on the 2025 season and how they'll improve their roster. The Houston Texans have made it to the Divisional Round for the past two seasons but seek to make a jump.
Last March, Houston traded for running back Joe Mixon to help with their championship aspirations. Though the 28-year-old had immediate success in H-town, he posted a cryptic offseason tweet that caused fans to raise an eyebrow.
While the Super Bowl was happening, Mixon again posted on his X account, saying, "Gotta get back to that Super Bowl. By any means necessary…"

By any means necessary…
Joe Mixon Posted on X During Super Bowl
Mixon is signed through 2026 after inking a three-year, $27 million extension in March 2024. Although he hasn't requested a trade or wants out, his tweets are leaving things up for interpretation.
The Oklahoma product has been in the league for eight seasons and made the Super Bowl in 2022 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
He's itching to get back there and would do anything to get another opportunity at a Lombardi Trophy.
In his lone season with the Texans, Mixon finished with 1,016 rushing yards, 309 receiving yards, and 12 total touchdowns. He provided them with a quality ball carrier in the backfield and looks to build off his solid season in 2025.
Offseasons are always unpredictable, which has led to some speculation on if Mixon will leave town.
There's been no official reports regarding that but Mixon's recent posts on his X account have opened up that conversation.
The Texans swapped offensive coordinators already, going from Bobby Slowik to Nick Caley. With a new voice calling the shots offensively, things could look different for the Texans in 2025. Mixon may be one of the driving forces for that unit but we'll have to see how things unfold over the next couple of months.
