With training camp around the corner, teams around the league are doing their due diligence when it comes to their 90-man roster.
During this time of the year, various free agents are receiving tryouts in hopes of getting signed immediately or later this summer. We’ve also witnessed several UFL players garner interest from NFL teams after finishing their spring season.
On Wednesday, the Houston Texans reportedly signed one of those UFL players, Damon Arnette Jr., to a one-year deal, who will likely compete for the CB3 spot behind Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter on the outside.
At the same time, another UFL player with ties to the Texans was also signed Wednesday after playing two years in spring football.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Arlington Renegades tight end Seth Green signed with the New Orleans Saints. Green has spent the last two years playing in the UFL with the Renegades after signing a letter of intent with the Houston Roughnecks.
After spending the past two seasons with the UFL Arlington Renegades, tight end Seth Green is signing with the New Orleans Saints, per his agent Warren Verrett III.

Texans fans might not remember Green, as he was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Houston. Green had four receptions for 40 yards in the preseason, but didn’t make the final 53-man roster.
After getting let go by the Texans, the Dallas Cowboys signed Green to their practice squad on October 12, 2022. He didn’t play in any regular-season games, but was re-signed to a futures deal at the end of the 2022 season.
Green went to training camp and played in the preseason with the Cowboys, but was released in August 2023. That said, the former Texan didn’t give up on his football dreams. He took his talents to the UFL, where he thrived playing under Bob Stoops as the TE2 next to Sal Cannella.
In his first year with the Renegades, the 27-year-old pass catcher had 11 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. Then this season, Green saw his numbers improve. He recorded 13 receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown across 10 games.
The former Texan has done a good job taking advantage of what the UFL has had to offer over the last two years and has found his way back to the NFL. We’ll see if Green can take what he learned in the UFL as he tries to make the team in New Orleans.
