Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz had a brief run-in with police this week because of the car he was driving. The veteran pass catcher posted a picture of his car on Instagram with the caption, "There she is" (h/t James Roy).

Then, a minute later, Schultz posted a picture of himself with the caption, “There she goes.” Many Texans fans on social media were confused about what happened with Schultz and his car.

On Wednesday night, Schultz took to Twitter to explain what happened with his car and the police. The veteran pass catcher said he went to pick up his R34 Skyline GTR V-Spec and took it for a drive before he had to give it back to get the final paperwork completed.

Schultz added that he wasn’t driving long. He went just a quarter mile before getting pulled over by the police.

However, the good news for the veteran pass catcher is that the police officer understood and he was able to get his car back “without anything catastrophic happening to a car lacking the necessary legalities for the state of Texas.”

It’s good to see Schultz didn’t get into any serious trouble and kept his car, which he is trying to turn into his dream car. The veteran tight end needs to be a little bit more careful when testing out his new car, but thankfully law enforcement was understanding.

Schultz just wrapped up his second year with the Texans. The 28-year-old tight end played well in 2024, racking up 53 receptions (85 targets) for 532 yards and two touchdowns.

The veteran pass catcher won't become a free agent until 2027, meaning he'll be with the Texans until after the 2025 season. Schultz has a potential out in his contract for the 2026 season.
