The Houston Texans have seen success during the Nick Caserio and DeMeco Ryans era. They have made the divisional round for two consecutive seasons but have failed to advance past that round.
This past season, the injuries at receiver played a big role in that. Stefon Diggs tore his ACL in October and missed the remainder of the season.
He will hit free agency next week, but Houston has made it clear they are open to re-signing him. With Diggs' future in Houston up in the air, another All-Pro receiver hit the open market. On Tuesday, Ian Rapoport reported that the New York Jets have released receiver Davante Adams.

NFL News: Davante Adams is Hitting Free Agency
The Texans are unclear when Tank Dell will return to the field, along with Diggs becoming a free agent. They should call in and check on Adams.
The 32-year-old was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets last October. He put up 85 catches for 1,063 receiving yards and eight touchdowns between both teams in 2024. Despite being a productive weapon, the Jets finished with a disappointing 5-12 record.
With Aaron Rodgers no longer in the fold, the Jets wanted to go in a different direction. Add in that Adams was slated to have a $38 million cap hit in 2025.
The six-time Pro Bowler is a crisp route runner who can attack on all three levels of the field. He has six seasons with 1,000-plus receiving yards under his belt. If the Texans found a way to replace Diggs with Adams, that would go a long way for their offense.
He's still one of the top receivers in the league and would form a dynamic duo with Nico Collins. Adams has made it clear he would love to play for a team on the West Coast, but if the Texans offer him a deal he can't refuse, it would be difficult for him to turn away an emerging team with a young star quarterback in C.J. Stroud.
