The Houston Texans have wrapped up the NFL Draft for 2020 with a total of five picks. How did they do? Let’s look at each pick and assess.

Houston Texans’ fans — we’re done, the NFL Draft is over and now we have a sense of how this team is going to look going into the 2020 season.  Although some of the picks were puzzling to me, the majority of the decisions made on the most talented prospects out of college were sound by Bill O’Brien and his staff.

O’Brien has already said that this roster through training camp will be a bit smaller because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The offseason training schedule has been placed to a grinding halt as we all fight this battle by staying apart and staying home as much as possible.

This will thwart the rookies because they likely won’t have the opportunity to get up to speed with the playbook.  More than likely, if the bell is sound clearing them play — likely without fans — they’ll have to jump right into things starting with Week 1 of the regular season.

That’s why O’Brien has emphasized that this is a season for the veterans because of the limited amount of time the coaching staff will have to work with the young guns.

But on paper, these guys have been brought in to fulfill a need and I’m sure we’re all hopeful that they will do that.

Without further adieu, let’s get after these grades!
