Despite what the original plan was, Grennard is going to be able to help this team and they were able to nab a guy that some had going in the first round being able to fall right into the Houston Texans’ lap. That is a steal ladies and gentlemen and the team should thank their lucky stars that they were able to get him.

him — as well as his abilities — there seems to be a consensus that this guy could be starter in short order. It may take a little bit of time for him to get acclimated but he should be ready to rock and roll soon as the team’s premier pass-rusher.
O’Brien continues to drive home his opinion that it’s going to be a tough year for rookies to crack the rotation so it remains to be seen how much he will be used. As I mentioned with Ross Blacklock being picked in the second round earlier this evening, there will be an apprenticeship but he’ll be key cog in rotation soon enough.
I’m excited more than I’m intrigued with the pick because I know he’s going to be able to do something special for this franchise despite his past battle with the injury bug.

Grennard accumulated 53 tackles — 27 solos — along with 10.0 sacks, 16.0 tackles-for-loss one interception, four passes defensed, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown in 11 games for the Gators last season.
