The Houston Rockets should look into bringing back Luc Mbah a Moute, who had a previous tour of duty. He worked out for them recently so let’s take a look.

The Houston Rockets were unfortunately demolished by the Los Angeles Clippers in a 120-105 decision last night in one of the better statement games that the Clips are trying to make that they’re the best team in the Western Conference.

As we know, small ball works the majority of the time but when it doesn’t, it looks like a dumpster fire, especially when they face teams will postmen that are skilled in what they do.  Ivica Zubac had the game of his life, reeling in 17 points, 12 rebounds and one block being a +23 in terms of his efficiency.

The Houston Rockets were no match Zubac and he continued to cause problems for the team throughout the duration of the contest.

For a game that had the Clips up by as much as 30 points with only one tie and two lead changes, it’s clearly obvious that the Houston Rockets’ opponent was in the driver’s seat for most of the game.

The old adage is that “mama said that there would days like this,” and that was certainly the case with last night’s contest.  They’ll regroup, recharge and get ready for the Charlotte Hornets for a Saturday matinee but Mike D’Antoni and Company will be sitting down today, breaking down tape and figuring out what in Sam’s Hill happened to this team.

I think the team still needs somebody to help them be even more fierce on the defensive end that has the ability to shoot threes and an interesting development is coming to fruition.

According to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko, the Houston Rockets have worked out forward Luc Mbah a Moute, who had a previous tour of duty with the team back in the 2017-18 season.  As with his stint back then, Mbah a Moute as been dealing with injuries and hasn’t been with a team since recovering from knee surgery that occurred around this time last season.  He only appeared in four games.

Mbah a Moute, 33, appears to be ready to go and is likely doing a tour of workouts for teams and

the Houston Rockets happened to be one of his stops.

When he was healthy, he was a fierce weapon for the team, with his steadfast defense and strong marksmanship from behind-the-arc.  His assets could be used immensely as his 6-foot-8, 230-pound frame would work wonders to help this small ball commitment work even better.

The roster is now full with the recent acquisitions of Jeff Green and DeMarre Carroll so somebody has to be dropped.  Who should it be?  It definitely should be guard Michael Frazier, who is a rookie and in development and I think sending him down to Rio Grande will open that spot for Mbah a Moute to slide into.

But with a lineup featuring James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon, Daniel House, Eric Gordon and Robert Covington, Mbah a Moute should be welcomed complement.

I’m hoping this happens but we’ll have to see about it!
